Photo and Karaoke Kiosk Provides Engaging Experience to 60 Cost Plus World Market Stores
Cost Plus World Market, the retail chain that sells home furniture, decor, gifts, and other international products, is known for some amazing holiday promotions. As part of their 2018 campaigns, the company launched a Star Maker Song Contest (press release here) with Universal Music Group and Brands and with help from a Grammy nominated artist.
To help execute the vision, our team was called upon by our friends at Promologix to set up and customize software, provide staff to set up 60 kiosks at 60 participating stores, as well as provide remote monitoring and support for those stores.
The contest allowed singers and customers to enter using our photo and karaoke kiosks by visiting one of 60 participating stores. While in store, the choice of taking a holiday photo or singing “Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town” and entering the karaoke contest presented itself on the kiosk screen.
Photos that were taken were instantly available for sharing to Twitter, Email or Text/MMS. Those that chose the karaoke contest were able to share their video via email and automatically have their submission entered into the online contest.
All participants had the chance to win a recording session in Hollywood with a top music producer or a World Market gift card and online videos could be viewed, shared, and could receive votes. Finally, the national grand prize winning performance was chosen by GRAMMY® Award-nominated artist (winner here)!
Over the 3 weeks, more than 10,000 branded photos were taken and shared and close to 1,000 karaoke videos uploaded to the contest website from the kiosks! The unique and interactive digital experience that was provided to customers also left a lasting impression of the Cost Plus World Market brand…
